Safer play
If you gamble, the goal is simple: it should cost only what you decided in advance, and stay fun. These tools help you set limits, notice when things drift, and find help if you need it. Nothing you enter here leaves your device.
Ground rules
- Gamble only with money you can afford to lose, never with money for rent, bills or debts.
- Decide your time and money limits before you start, and set them with the operator.
- Never chase losses. The next round does not know what the last one took.
- Don’t gamble when you are upset, stressed, drunk or trying to fix a money problem.
- Don’t borrow to gamble, and take regular breaks.
- Use only operators licensed in your country: they must offer deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion.

Self-exclusion and blocking
Self-exclusion bars you from gambling sites for a period you choose. Several countries run one national scheme that covers every licensed site at once: GAMSTOP in the United Kingdom, Spelpaus in Sweden, ROFUS in Denmark, CRUKS in the Netherlands, OASIS in Germany, RGIAJ in Spain, BetStop in Australia and, since December 2025, a central platform in Brazil. Blocking software such as BetBlocker (free) or Gamban adds a second layer on your own devices, including against unlicensed sites.

For family and friends
Signs to look for include secrecy about money, borrowing, missed commitments and mood swings linked to wins and losses. Talk calmly, without blame, at a time when they are not gambling, and focus on specific things you have noticed. You don’t have to handle it alone: the help lines above also advise people affected by someone else’s gambling.
